Arc Systems President Won’t Play Dragon Ball FighterZ At EVO 2018
EVO is one of the biggest fighting game tournaments in the world. Every year, gamers from all over wait and see what games make it in, what don’t, and then, how the matches themselves play out. It’s a very fun time. This year though, the tournament is set to be more insane than ever, not the least of which is because two new games (that released in 2018) are going to be part of the tournament. Which is very rare. These two titles are Dragon Ball FighterZ and Blazblue: Cross Tag Battle.
Adding to the fun of this, a few members of the Arc Systems team are going to be participating in the battles. One of which, a producer on the game, will be playing in the Dragon Ball FighterZ tournament. However, in another twist, the president of Arc Systems, Minoru Kidooka, has revealed he will also be a part of EVO 2018’s tournaments. But not as a member of the FighterZ ones.
Truly, he made a poll and listed all the non-Arc Systems titles as potential possibilities for him. The winner was Super Smash Bros. Melee, and he made a video revealing this.
So, why not join the FighterZ tournaments? Well, it could be for several reasons, not the least of which is that another member of the team, as previously stated, is already in the tournaments, so why stack the deck in Arc Systems favor? After all, this is meant to be a gamers’ tournament, right?
Second, it could be a fun way to get the gamers involved even more, and it could lead to some fun results now that he’s destined to be playing Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Either way though, this is a very cool thing, and it makes us wish EVO 2018 was getting here even sooner.
