Apex Legends now has the same kind of punishment system the ranked matches have but this time aimed at Arena leavers.
Apex Legends did a great thing when it introduced Arena. This 3v3 mode is a lot of fun, as it’s basically a quick match where two teams clash without interference. No need to worry about a third team crashing the party and messing up your firefight.
Yet, there’s no ranked mode for Arena yet. That means there’s no punishment system as well. As you can assume, people abused this to Hell and back. If something goes wrong, you just leave. Which sucks for your other two teammates as they’re basically a man down. And fighting 2v3 isn’t exactly fun in a fast-paced game like Apex Legends.
Apex Legends is using a simple punishment for Arena leavers. You get a 10-minute penalty that prevents players from playing during that timeframe. In the Twitter post announcing this addition players started complaining.
It seems the Matchmaking for Arena is broken. Highly skilled players are put in a game with people that aren’t on their skill level. Then it makes sense why you would leave. No one likes getting stomped without even having a winning chance.
