EA and Bioware are both big-time developers and publishers. However, they’re also ones that have come under a lot of fire in recent years. For EA, the last year for them hasn’t exactly been kind, as their releases of Battlefront II, Need For Speed Payback, UFC 3 and more triggered much fan backlash for multiple reasons. Ans for Bioware, while this was one of the best RPG teams in the business at one time, Mass Effect: Andromeda proved that they could make big mistakes. Yet, despite this, people are looking forward to their next title together, Anthem.
Ironically though, this game has already had its fair share of problems, including already being delayed to 2019. This hit gamers hard because the demo that was played during E3 2017 had them very interested. And now, we’re waiting for the next bit of news or footage from the game. Now, the Anthem Twitter account has gone active, and it appears to be teasing something. And EA thought they should get in on the fun too.
Naturally, we don’t have any idea what they’re teasing, or when we might get the reveal of what they’re teasing. Given the timing, it’s very possible that something will be revealed before E3 2018. After all, if it was meant to be an imminent tease, and it was to debut at the show, they would’ve done it closer to it, right?
Another thing to talk about is microtransactions, as some people on the Twitter thread brought that up. EA had a financial conference recently and their CEO noted that while Anthem would have microtransactions and Loot Boxes, it wouldn’t be until after launch. A bold move, but one that could work depending on how reception goes for the title when it launches.
If anything else occurs, or the tease is revealed, we’ll let you know.
