Alien Blackout to Come To Nintendo Switch?
In November of last year, Blizzard made an announcement that made many gamers furious. That announcement was Diablo Immortal, a mobile version of their action-RPG franchise that has only been on console and PC in the past. Recently, another company decided to do a similar thing. This time though, it’s the Alien franchise, for FoxNext Games revealed Alien Blackout a little while ago for mobile. It’s seemingly a sequel to Alien Isolation, which many praised for its intense gameplay. But having it solely on mobile has made many gamers mad.
In an interview with DualShockers, the head of the dev team, TQ Jefferson, noted that while the game as going to be rooted in mobile platforms, he’s not opposed to having it be on a console. In fact, he thinks that there is one console out there right now that would be perfect for it. Nintendo Switch:
“I think Switch is a good one to bring up and we’ve certainly seen many games go from mobile to console or more likely console to mobile. If I had to pick a platform to put it (Alien: Blackout) on, I’d pick Switch.”
He also noted that he understood why people were comparing Alien Blackout to Diablo Immortal, because on the surface, they seem like the same kind of thing in terms of style and play format. But he would talk about why they were different:
“I can see some people making a connection between ‘Diablo’ and this, but I think it’s a bit of a leap,” he told the site, “The ‘Diablo’ backlash was focused on free-to-play and mobile, our game is a premium mobile game where you pay one price and you’re done. It’s a contained experience.”
Whether it comes to Switch or not, or how well it will do is still very much up in the air as of now.
