The king of battle royal games just keeps on impressing, and it seems like the number of players that are playing just keeps increasing. In a blog, Epic Games have said that this free2play shooter has amassed 125 million players. Yes, that is quite a ridiculous number, and what’s even crazier is that the game attracted this amount of people in less than one year. Will Fortnite ever stop growing, or will it keep on getting more and more popular until it takes over the entire world? We don’t know, but we do know that Epic Games will give $100, 000, 000 to the competitive scene of the game for 2018 and 2019.
That is a lot of players that are playing the game, and that is a lot of money that Epic Games is giving to the competitive scene. But, that only means that they plan to support the title and really see it prosper, and its growth is already really astounding. The craze of the battle royal genre is being exploited by a lot of people, but not many are succeeding in mimicking Fortnite and the popularity it acquired, and it looks like the developers are hellbent on keeping the crown and expanding their reach.
