Slimes are usually presented as weak, disgusting, and outright appalling creatures in most games. But, in Slime Rancher, they are cute little beings that you can feed and play with. And with the upcoming update, you will be able to do that in VR.
For a title where you wrangle slimes, this game has overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. Why? Well, it is such a simple yet addictive and all around pleasant game that you can’t hate. The mechanics are all fine, the way your progress is meaningful and paced correctly. But, most importantly, there are these big blobs of happiness that will make you smile whenever you look at them. People are saying that Slime Rancher cured their sadness, and we believe them.
This is first and foremost a resource management game with a bit of exploration thrown in there. But, let’s be honest, it’s all about the cute slimes. They always manage to make you smile when you see them innocently bouncing around the place.
Now, the game is getting the Playground DLC, free for everyone, which is basically a VR mode. Feeding and taking care of our slimes in virtual reality sounds like a lot of fun. We can’t wait for this update to come since it enables us to boop a slime on the nose. That is basically everything we ever asked for in a game.
