The highly anticipated sequel Splatoon 2 finally made its way onto the Nintendo Switch last week, and has made a solid impact on the UK charts.
Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy continues to take top spot, but this is still an impressive showing by Splatoon 2, which has outperformed the previous game which released on Wii U. Its position in the charts also makes it the third most successful Switch game launch so far in the UK, behind The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Speaking of the other two titles, both Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild both placed in the top 10 charts, making it a decent week overall for Nintendo, with first party games for the console making a mark on the charts. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe managed to climb its way up to fourth place, whilst Breath of the Wild placed in sixth, effectively jumping 12 places to get within the top six.
A couple of other titles made it into the top 40 also, with 1-2-Switch coming back to place in 24th, and ARMS remained in 27th.
The restocking of the Switch will have also aided these sales, plus additional interest from the release of Splatoon 2.
