Panic Button Talks Nintendo Switch Future
The Nintendo Switch has been doing really well ever since launch, and a big reason for that is the simple fact that the system is almost always getting new games every month. They might be 1st party, 3rd party, or indie games, but they’re coming. Another thing that the Switch is getting is a lot of ports. Some 1st party, some 3rd, and they’re actually doing really well because of the popularity of the system and the fact that some of the gamers just never played them on other systems. One of the most popular developers of the ports is Panic Button.
If you recall, this is the developer who brought over Doom, Rocket League, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus to the system, and with great results. And now, they’re attached to bring the popular co-op shooter Warframe to the system, and they’re teasing even more to come. And they’re loving it, and they love the Switch, and they think it has a great future ahead of it.
For Panic Button General Manager Adam Creighton, part of the fun is that there’s still a lot of pushing to do with Nintendo Switch in terms of making the games even better:
“It’s a really neat piece of hardware, and we’re learning more all the time. We work closely with Nintendo and Nvidia, and it’s an opportunity for us to do more and more with the hardware. It’s interesting, it’s still pretty early for the Switch as a gaming device, so I’m excited to see what happens on the hardware and the optimization front.”
Indeed, systems always need a “feeling out period”, and Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime noted previously that he thinks the period will be over soon, which should lead to not just better games, but faster releases for 3rd party titles. And you can bet that Panic Button will happily be a part of that.
