Fortnite On Switch Already Downloaded 2 Million Times
While it’s true that some leaks for video games and consoles are fake, sometimes they are true, and the world is better for it. For example, over the last few months, Fortnite had been teased for the Nintendo Switch. The pairing made sense, especially because they had put the game on Android and iOS, and the Switch is a step up from that. But it wasn’t until E3 2018 that Nintendo officially unveiled the game was coming…that day. And that made a lot of players happy.
For on the Nintendo of America Twitter feed, they revealed that Fortnite for Switch had already been download 2 million times in about a day.

While it’s true that the game is popular worldwide, to get such a response so quickly is very impressive, and shows not just the popularity of the game, but the willingness by Switch owners to try it out.
Now, there have been some setbacks since the game’s launch on Switch. There was a brief period of time where matchmaking was down, but that was likely because of all the new players trying to get in on the game at launch. There’s also the fact that the free version of the game only has the Battle Royale mode, but that’s honestly the most popular mode in the game, so that’s not bad either.
The real problem though is that Sony isn’t letting anyone who has an account for Fortnite on their system transfer it to the Switch, nor can the game be cross-played with PS4 players. Their response?
“We’re always open to hearing what the PlayStation community is interested in to enhance their gaming experience.”
Many are scoffing at this statement, mainly because Sony has gone out of their way to ensure that no one can cross-play with their titles.
