Black Ops 4 Zombies Mode On PC Has Aim Assist
You can’t really put something like aim assist on a PC shooter. That feature is supposed to help console players, as it is much harder to aim with a controller than with a mouse, so you can only imagine how much superiority PC players would have if they could turn on aim assist while they played with a mouse. From the looks of it, the PC version of the game will have aim assist, but ONLY for the Zombies mode and if you’re using a controller, which is great news indeed. This was confirmed in a Reddit post by TreyarchPC, so it is official!
You see, PC players are pretty cunning. They can find all manner of exploits and glitches which they can then abuse in a PvP match. This is what concerned most people when they heard that an aim assist feature would be present in the PC version of Black Ops 4, but thankfully, Treyarch confirmed in a Reddit post that this feature could only be turned on if you’re playing the Zombies mode with a controller. They said:
“Please tell me that Aim Assist will be off when using a controller on PC!”—The Black Ops 4 Internet
We can do that!
We’ve been asked this question a number of times and can now set the record straight. Aim Assist with controllers will be OFF on PC in competitive PvP modes (meaning Multiplayer and Blackout).
As always, note that we’re also still pre-Alpha and continue testing and tweaking to ensure the most efficient processes are in place. To that end, we expect Aim Assist with controllers to be available in Zombies mode but continue to test for gameplay and security reasons.
We are really excited for Black Ops 4, at least for the Zombies mode, as the multiplayer segment in Black Ops 3 wasn’t much fun, so we aren’t expecting anything in the next game from the Black Ops franchise.
