CD Projekt Red are known for their RPG titles, mainly The Witcher series which is widely considered one of the best RPG trilogies ever made, especially because of the third entry Wild Hunt. For years now though they have been working on another RPG title, one called Cyberpunk 2077. This game will be something special if the dev team is to be believed, but that’s not saying much as gamers haven’t had a look at the game for quite some time.
The last trailer for the game was years ago, and since then we’ve only had vague promises and teases as to when we’ll see more of it. It appears as though we’re going to get a new glimpse at the game at E3 2018, but in what capacity, and how much we’ll actually see, is very much up for debate. Still, CD Projekt Red is continuing to give us glimpses of what we can expect.
For example, in a conference call, the dev team noted that this game is going to get a massive push in the media:
“We have high hopes when it comes to that title,” said CD Projekt RED CEO Adam Kicinski and CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said of the game. “The campaign will surely be more expensive than in the case of Witcher 3, but it is too early to discuss the details. The closer we are to the premiere, the more precise our expectations become and then we know more or less how much we want to spend on promotion; this is the standard in the business.”
That’s a very interesting detail to note, as that shows just how much they want this game to succeed that they’d go beyond what they did for their most successful title in Wild Hunt. Hopefully we’ll get more details as we wind down the clock to E3 2018.
