For a while now, Bandai Namco has been teasing the arrival of two more DLC characters for Dragon Ball FighterZ. The first is Fused Zamasu, and then recently, confirmation about Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan Vegito. Yet, despite screenshots and mini teaser trailers, no official release date was given. Until now, for in a series of tweets, the publisher revealed that the game would receive these characters on May 31st, so you’ll be able to play as both of them, and then put them against each other in no time flat.

#DragonBallFighterZ…Here come SSGSS Vegito and a sneak peek of the dramatic scene with Fused Zamasu! Both Fused Zamasu and SSGSS Vegito will be available on 31st May as stand-alone or in the FighterZ Pass!”
As noted in the tweet, if you have the FighterZ Pass you’ll automatically get the characters upon release, but if you don’t, you can get them via individual purchases.
Vegito first appeared in the Majin Buu saga, and is a fusion of Goku and Vegeta. It was a desperate move to try and defeat Buu, and it worked in a way. However, in Dragon Ball Super, they took things to the next level, they fused again while in Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan forms, and became the Vegito that’ll be in Dragon Ball FighterZ.
They did this to fight Fused Zamasu, which is a fusion of Zamasu from the future and Goku Black. Fused Zamasu was incredibly powerful, and only SSGSS Vegito could stand up to him, though he didn’t win, he did help setup Fused Zamasu’s defeat. Thus why there will be a Dramatic Finish when the two fight.
Both characters will arrive on the 31st, and when they do, speculation will begin for what characters will arrive next.
