Twitch Bounty Board Enters Beta
Gaming has evolved greatly in the last decade or so. For what was once believed to be a hobby that “you can’t make money off of” has been proven to be anything but. Between Youtube, Twitch, and certain other practices, the common gamer can make money off of playing games if they work hard at it. And now, Twitch is offering a new twist in the tale via the “Twitch Bounty Board”, which will allow players to hook up with sponsors for paid streams.
Sound too good to be true? Not at all. This is legitimate, and what’s more, there rules to be followed and maintained if you want to receive the full payment, such as maintaining a good viewership.
“Bounty Board is a way for creators to browse and accept paid sponsorship opportunities (AKA bounties) directly from their Twitch dashboard,” the Bounty Board FAQ explained. “With Bounty Board, Twitch handles the relationship with the brand and finds sponsorship opportunities for you. Twitch will also handle your payments, so you can concentrate on streaming and growing your community.”
The service is in beta right now, and games you can make money streaming off of include Super Mario Odyssey, Call of Duty: WWII, Dragon Ball FighterZ, and more.
Now, as stated, there are rules you need to follow to complete the “bounty”. For example, one Call of Duty: WWII bounty has you playing the game for an hour. During that hour, you have to maintain your average viewership, put “#Sponsored” in the title of the stream, go to Channel Setting and turn on “Store Past Broadcasts”, and do the bounty before 7/31.
Another big thing that the bounties ask for is to keep the stream clean, and not to bad mouth the game. It’s ok to criticize, or call out a flaw or two. But don’t bash on the game needlessly.
The Twitch Bounty Board could easily help change the way streaming is done.
