PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Brings Desert Knights To War Mode

For a while now, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has been working on reasserting itself as the dominant Battle Royale game. While it was technically the only real game in town for a while, Fortnite slowly gained ground, then jumped over it in terms of success. But, PUBG Corp isn’t giving up without a fight, and their new War Mode (which brings limited time events) is one of the big ways to get back to where they were. Today, they revealed what will be the next event in War Mode, it’s called Desert Knights.

Here’st the breakdown of it via Steam:

War Mode is back. This time around you’ll enlist in one of 10 five-man squads and battle it out on Miramar. As before, you’ll respawn in a plane after every death. The first team to get 200 points wins.

Unlike the last War Mode, which featured armored cars raining from the sky, this one seems to focus on the more combative aspects of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, focusing on skill and teamwork rather than anything else.

The event starts today, and will go until May 6th/7th depending on your time zone. Check the Steam Page for full schedule details. As for the other differences that Desert Knights has to offer, the Safe Zone is a bit bigger than last War Mode’s was, and it won’t move around this time. If you’re killed, you’ll be put in a play that releases passengers every 40 seconds.

As for what gear you’ll be able to use:

This time around, players spawn with top-tier equipment that’s normally found only in care packages. This includes:

  • One random care package weapon (AWM, M24, Mk14, M249, Groza, or AUG)

  • A level three vest

  • A level three helmet

  • Two grenades

So if you’re looking for a new thrill in PUBG, Desert Knights might just be the fix you need.
