For a while now, Epic Games has been teasing what Fortnite Season 04 would be about. Many felt, due to the teases, that the game would be adding superhero and supervillain elements to the game. Or something along those lines. Today, Epic Games revealed all, and everything is changing because of a comet that has affected the battlefield, and everyone in it. So be prepared for new gear, new powers, new weapons, a changed map and much more. Welcome to Season 04.
Here’s the synopsis of the season via Epic Games website: Season 4 “is starting off with a BANG. Shards of a massive comet have crashed into the map altering the landscape. Discover gravity-defying Hop Rocks and find new ways to play.”
By “new ways to play”, they mean that the Hop Rocks will give you altered gravity, which means you’ll be able to jump higher and farther, opening up a lot of new strategies. Also, because of the comet, the map itself has changed, check it out:
The place where the comet crashed in full is now called “Dusty Divot”, and that will change up how you view the map in a big way. ANd other places have been affected too, so you’ll have to explore the whole map to see where all the comet spots are.
Oh, and if you were hoping for a superhero update, you’re in luck, because that’s what “Save The World” is going to offer with a special 5-part event called “Blockbuster”. Here’s the breakdown:
Start a movie marathon in Save the World’s latest questline, Blockbuster! Part 1 starts with Five quests and one Landmark Mission. Ray has gone missing and no one knows where she is. With the help of Spitfire and Lok, investigate the comet and gear up to recruit a team of superheroes. Find Ray and bring her back home!
