Dark Souls: Remastered Network Test Still On For PS4 and Xbox One
It’s been a bit of a rough time for Dark Souls fans the last week, especially if you wanted to get the game on the Nintendo Switch. As From Software announced that the Switch version will now be delayed. Which is a big blow to the system as Dark Souls: Remastered was set for simultaneous launch on all major consoles, but now, it’s been delayed to the Summer. However, if you were hoping to get it on Xbox One and PS4, a key date for you is coming up.
For one of the things that will make Dark Souls: Remastered so special is a more in-tune internet connection. But, that connection will need to be tested. Many have wondered if the Switch delay would affect the Network Test event, but the Dark Souls Twitter account revealed that won’t be the case:
“And, to be clear, the PS4/XB1 Network Test will proceed as originally planned. We’ll announce the dates for this test as soon as possible.”
They also spoke on the state of the Switch version and when the Network Test event for that will be:
Unfortunately, the change of the Switch release date has affected its Network Test and it will be arranged separately from the test for PS4/XB1. Network Test dates for the Switch will also be announced at the earliest possible opportunity.
Again, while this is a big blow to the Switch owners who wanted to play the game alongside the other consoles, it is good to know that the Xbox One and PS4 versions have not been hurt by the delay.
Many are excited for Dark Souls: Remastered, and for a variety of reasons. From Software has promised not just refined graphics, but fixing of some key problems that bogged down the first game. We’ll have to see how it does when it releases May 25nd.
