Final Fantasy XIV Getting Its Next Big Patch In May
We finally have confirmation that the next big patch is coming to Final Fantasy XIV in May, which is sooner than we thought. Unfortunately, the recent Final Fantasy XIV live letter was in Japanese, so if you don’t speak that language, you probably didn’t understand much, but on the game’s official Twitter account we got the release date for the patch, which is late May.
What can we expect from the upcoming patch? Well, mostly your typical additions like a new dungeon, new trials, and so on. Players will also go back to the Ridorana Lighthouse when the next part of the popular Return to Ivalice series comes. Players have also eagerly waited for the release of the Final Fantasy XIV companion app that lets you use your phone to access things like your inventory, market boards and so on, which should also be coming soon. You can expect to see the new Deep Dungeon in this patch, as well as the Namazu beast tribe quests, and a new Ultimate battle versus the Ultima Weapon. There will be other various additions, there’s no doubt about that, but we need to wait for someone to translate the live letter in order to find out more.
Final Fantasy XIV is one of those rare MMORPGs that has a monthly subscription, but from the looks of it, the players are absolutely loving it, which can be seen from the reviews on the game’s Steam page.
