Black Desert Online: North America Gets A New Service Provider

MMORPG developers always need to keep a close eye on their servers. This isn’t anything new, since a lot of people play these games, and the server needs to handle huge amounts of players at the same time, which isn’t always easy. Black Desert Online is going to switch hosting providers and administrators for its NA servers, which will utilize Level 3 Communications as the primary carrier from now on. The network stability is definitely going to improve, as two additional carriers will also support the server now.

Black Desert Online

This is a huge step in the right direction for Black Desert Online, as server stability is one of the most important things for an MMORPG, especially these days where you can have a small number of people playing at the same time, but once a big event comes on or a new expansion arrives, a huge wave of people returns all of a sudden, which can often overload a server. The developers are also implementing new security measures which will help against DDoS attacks, and overall the Database servers’ performance will improve after they get upgraded. The EU Database servers are also receiving updates in the near future.

Black Desert Online players need to wait 10 hours or so for this process to finish. Their goal with these improvements is to strengthen the connection stability for North American and European regions as much as possible.
