E3 2018 To Have Super Smash Bros And Splatoon 2 Tournaments
E3 2018 is only a few months away, and the anticipation for it is growing with each passing week. This is the conference where Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo all reveal what’s coming up next for their consoles. And it’s also a place where Ubisoft, Bethesda, EA and other developers show off what’s coming out from their development teams. However, just because there’s going to be game reveals doesn’t there isn’t going to be some fun. For Nintendo has revealed that this year there will not only be a Splatoon 2 World Championship, but also, a tournament featuring Super Smash Bros for Switch.
This is huge news on many levels, not the least of which is because Super Smash Bros for Switch was only announced a few weeks ago! And now, we’re going to have a tournament featuring it! Now, given that this is an invitational tournament, it may be that Nintendo is picking the players who will be in the tournament and thus can play only certain characters they’re willing to show.
Nintendo representative Bill Trinen talked with IGN and noted that fans can expect some great matches in the tournament:
We plan on showcasing high level, world-class play with Super Smash Bros for Switch, and we also plan on showcasing the game in a way that highlights how fun it can be for players and different ways that players will enjoy playing the game.
It’s going to be very interesting to see what they show for Smash Bros at E3 both in the tournament, and outside it.
As for Splatoon 2’s World Championship, this will feature teams from all over the world splatting it out to see who can be the very best. Splatoon 2’s popularity has grown every month as new content has been added to it, and this looks to get people even more into the game.
The tournaments will happen on June 11th-12th.
