Epic Games Has Adjusted Fortnite’s Blitz Mode
One of the best things about Fortnite is that they’re almost always getting a new mode. Now, granted, these new modes are often very short-term in regards to its lifespan, but it works to help keep the game fresh and players on their toes. The newest mode from Epic Games is Blitz Mode, which lets you play as you would, but the storm that comes gets to you a lot faster, meaning you have to be smart with how you play. However, after its release, Epic Games realized that something was off.
Mainly, there were too many resources available to players. Because of that, they were able to build shelters far too quickly. On Reddit, they noted:
“Having tons of resources is a blast, and our goal with the mode was to make it easier to gain resources due to the storm moving in so much faster.”
But, it’s now too fast, so they’ve made adjustments to fix that:
We believe that our initial resource numbers were a bit too abundant, and are making this adjustment to ensure there is still some risk/reward when farming in Blitz.
The resources on the loot floor are now 60 instead of 100. And farming resources will only boost you by 150% instead of 200%. They also promise to keep an eye on Blitz Mode to ensure that the balance doesn’t go wacky again.
It’ll be interesting to see how this balance affects the modes, but also, what other modes Epic Games is cooking up right now. Only time will tell.
Fortnite as a game has been doing very well recently. It launched on iOS devices in my regions of the world, and not only made a lot of money in its first few days, but also shot to the #1 spot on pretty much every chart it debuted in.
