Epic Games took a major game when they made their tower defense zombie fighting title Fortnite and added a free Battle Royale mode to it. Initially, they took a lot of flak, including from the creator of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds who felt they ripped it off in every way imaginable. But, this gamble has paid off, for players are flocking to the title, and it’s growing nearly every single day. So, when Epic Games announced that the title would be coming to mobile platforms, players got excited.
And now, if you have an iOS device, you can sign-up to get Fortnite on it. The Epic Games website has opened up registration for iOS devices, so check it out today. As for Android users, you’ll have to wait a little longer, but Epic Games has said that it will come, and they will release an update when you can sign up for it.
Now, if you’re expecting a “watered down” version of Fortnite on iOS and Android…don’t.
“On phones and tablets, Fortnite is the same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac,” Epic said in its reveal announcement. “Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates.”
This will be a huge deal when it releases, and not the least of which is because PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is also coming out to mobile (and is already out in China on mobile). So this will be another way for the two to lock horns and battle it out for Battle Royale supremacy.
In the meantime though, players have a lot of content to play and look forward to playing in the near future. There’s going to be a new 5-team 20-players per matchup coming, and that’s not including the new gear, guns, and other surprises that Epic Games no doubt has in store.
