Final Fantasy XV PC Edition Getting Half-Life Gear
So…this is going to respark rumors about Half-Life 3 coming out, you do know that right? Ok, as long as we’re clear, let’s get back to the news. Square Enix revealed a lot of things today about the upcoming PC port of their acclaimed RPG Final Fantasy XV. This port has been a long time coming, and many are eager to get their hands on it. Well, Square Enix revealed that you’ll be able to do so sooner than you think, and if you pre-order/buy the game on Steam, you’ll get a very special bonus.
First up, Square Enix revealed on their blog that a free demo of Final Fantasy XV will come on the 26th, which is next Monday. You can get it through Steam, Origin, or the Microsoft Store, whichever you like best. What’s more, the demo will include all of Chapter 1, which should give you a good introduction to the game.
But…that’s not what you wanted to hear, was it? Ok, here you go…
If you purchase Final Fantasy XV before May 1st on Steam, you’ll get a very special “Half-Life Pack”. This pack included the suit of Half-Life character Gordon Freeman, as well as his glasses and his classic crowbar weapon. This apparel can be worn by either Noctis or your Comrades character in multiplayer.
Now, if you’re an Origins or Microsoft Store player, though you won’t get this Half-Life pack, Square Enix does promise that you’ll be able to get some special packs of your own, and they’ll be revealed soon.
This isn’t the oddest thing Final Fantasy XV has done, as they did a crossover with Assassin’s Creed Origins last year and in January of this one. And now with Half-Life now present in the game, you have to wonder who else Square Enix is reaching out to for these special things.
…but seriously, this is totally going to spur on rumors about Half-Life 3 coming.
