Final Fantasy XV is widely regarded as one of the best games in the illustrious Final Fantasy series. It’s grand story, massive battle sequences, truly open-world, and the characters that filled it have made many love this game. It was the fastest-selling Final Fantasy title in history, and earned a lot of rewards for its efforts. And soon, it’ll be coming to PC after a long time in development. However, a tool meant to help guide people is now causing some issues with potential players.
Square Enix released a “benchmark” tool prior to the game’s launch to help potential buyers know how well their PC could handle the game, if they could handle it at all. But, when players tried to use the tool, they found out many things. One, there weren’t many customization options to help tweak the settings to see if it could work. What’s more, the graphics of the tool itself weren’t up to par.
Upon hearing these issues and complaints, Square Enix released a statement on Twitter.
“While the settings in the benchmark are largely pre-selected for simplicity’s sake, the final game will feature highly customizable settings with On/Off options for a wide variety of settings. The benchmark will give you an idea of how beautiful the game will be upon release, but for the reasons stated above, the benchmark may not accurately reflect the game’s final performance.”
Square Enix promises to make sure that these issues are not present in the full game, which is appreciated.
We also appreciate how far Square Enix is going to ensure that the PC version of the game works for as many people as possible. This port has been a fan ask for some time, but players also know that this game will take some serious PC power to run.
Final Fantasy XV for PC will release on March 6th.
