Warframe developer and publisher Digital Extremes has revealed details on the recent addition to Plains of Eidolon with the Ghoul Purge Bounties. This will be led up by a pack of four Grineer Ghouls, each equipped with their own attack patterns and new weapons. This update arrives on PS4 and Xbox One today, and will be completely free.
A description in a recent press release states: “The grounds of the Plains have erupted with vile beings of Grineer origin – repugnant Ghouls that overrun their victims in a gruesome mass of limbs, toxin and violence. Players will encounter them via a Ghoul Alert, or by stumbling across their graveyards (where they are “born” from the ground), through Incursions or Bounties.”
The ghouls included start with the Rictus Ghoul, who has the ability to wield a buzz saw to take into battle, whilst the Auger Ghoul has dual flame-throwers in its arsenal, which doubls up as a drill to disappear and resurface from the ground for an additional element of surprise. Meanwhile, the Devourer Ghoul presents a “hideous, pustule-laden beast,” which is capable of using a long tongue, spiked fists and even a jet pack to make easy work of Tenno. As for the Expired Ghoul, prepare to face off against bomb-spiked gloves which both beat and detonate anything that stands in their way.
Warframe is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
