The analyst firm known as Superdata has conjured up some pretty interesting statistics for the indie farming sim from Chucklefish, with Stardew Valley selling over 3.5 million copies. The game first released on PC on February 26th, 2016, before making its way onto the Xbox One and PS4 later that year on December 14th, 2016. From there, Stardew Valley then released on Nintendo Switch last year, launching in October 2017.
Superdata isn’t the most reliable of sources when figuring out the exact number of how many copies have been sold. However, we can look at Steamspy to gain a closer look at how the game has sold on PC. And according to PC, the Steam version has sold 3.5 million copies to date.
Steamspy’s data isn’t completely accurate, either. Even so, if there is a margin of error, we can see that the Steam version has sold over 3.4 million copies on that platform alone. This is made more impressive by the fact that these are legitimate sales, and are not down to any giveaways or free weekends.
Stardew Valley is now available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The game’s creator has also confirmed that a new multiplayer mode will be coming later this year.
