Assassin’s Creed Origins successfully revitalized the struggling open-world action series by Ubisoft. Recent titles in the series didn’t intrigue fans or critics as much as the original titles did, and so the publisher decided to rethink things, and it clearly worked. Origins was a major hit both critically and financially. And now, they’re working hard to keep interest going far after launch. They’re doing this through very deep DLC packs, the first of which, The Hidden Ones, will release on the 23rd. However, that’s just the beginning.
Ubisoft has revealed what other DLC plans they have for Assassin’s Creed Origins, and it’s fascinating. For example, in February, the game is going to get a very special “Discovery Mode”. This mode will allow you to roam the game’s world and see just how beautiful Egypt is. The best part? There will be no combat to distract you from the sights and sounds and everyday hustle and bustle that is going on. You can even go on tours to learn valuable information about Egypt. The mode is a separate DLC and will cost $20 when it releases on February 20th.
The other major DLC pack will come in March, and it’s called “Curse Of The Pharaohs”. This one will feature a story that is very different and is, in fact, separate from the main story of the game. Something in Egypt is causing the dead to rise, including former Pharaohs, and because of this, you must find the source, and take the dead down for good. This is kind of a “dream matchup” DLC if you will as you’re going to be battling Egypt’s history through its dead rulers and various undead creatures.
And obviously, the DLC (save for the Discovery Tour) will feature new weapons and armor and gear for you to use. As you can see, Ubisoft is going all out for this game.
