WWE 2K18 has done its best to have the biggest and most in-depth roster of any WWE game before it, and it’s growing evermore with each new DLC pack that comes to it. And today, its latest DLC pack, called the “Enduring Icons DLC” will bring five more wrestlers to the mix. The Rock ‘n Roll Express, Beth Phoenix, and Team Xtreme, aka Jeff and Matt Hardy. The Hardy Boys have had long careers in WWE, and wrestling in general, and last year, they returned after a long hiatus.
Matt Hardy is currently the only one on TV (due to brother Jeff having an injury), but that’s working just fine for him, as a long-awaited storyline has finally come to fruition via the “Woken” arc. This arc was called “Broken” for the last few years while Matt Hardy was in another wrestling promotion, and when he returned, fans wanted that persona to come with him, and it did.
In an interview with IGN, Matt Hardy talked about what it was like to be in WWE 2K18 after such a long absence with the company:
“Very exciting. Absolutely riveting. I’m looking forward to seeing it and I’m absolutely ecstatic to be in a 2K game again after seven years. Myself and my brother to be once again involved in a WWE video game is very special.”
As mentioned above, the DLC also features the Rock ‘N Roll Express, which Hardy admitted had a huge influence on him growing up as a tag team wrestler.
They were absolute trailblazers in the area of tag team wrestling. They were younger smaller-sized wrestlers who did interesting flashy moves that many had never seen before. So yes, they were absolutely inspiring.
The “Enduring Icons DLC” drops today, so be sure to get it, and stay tuned for more DLC that will no doubt bring more legendary wrestlers into the game.
