Epic Games has confirmed that an update has been applied to Fortnite, which went live earlier this morning. The new patch reveal took place at 3am PST/9am GMT, which was also subjected to to server maintenance and downtime. Said downtime didn’t last long, with the servers only going down for around half an hour.
Epic stated prior to the update: “The V.2.1.0 update will release on Jan 10, at 4:00AM Eastern Time(9:00 GMT). Battle Royale matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes before downtime begins as we prepare for the patch deployment. Players will be logged out of all Epic services prior to the deployment and will be able to log back into the Launcher, Website, and Forums after a few minutes. The V.2.1.0 client update will be for all players on all platforms.”
The team are also looking at introducing the new Cozy Campfire Trap, which is set to bring a buff to players out on the battlefield, should you be able to find one and deploy it. This will need to be placed on the floor and will last for 25 seconds, giving players 2 HP per second. The item is of Blue rarity, and can be found knocking around a number of locations across the map.
Fortnite is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
