Though it didn’t start out that way, one of the coolest things that can happen for a fighting game is to get special fighters from other fighting franchises to join the fun. These “crossovers” can create very special matchups that will get fans excited, and likely create some fun “versus” matchups that no one saw coming. You have to wonder if this was one of the driving forces behind Tekken 7, as the game brought in (and will be bringing in) three special fighters to make the roster even deadlier.
The first was Akuma from Street Fighter, who actually tied into the story of Tekken 7 itself. Then, Geese Howard of Fatal Fury and King of Fighters fame was brought in via the DLC 2 pack. Finally, the upcoming DLC 3 will bring in Noctis from Final Fantasy XV. All three of these fighters are legendary in their own rights, but what you might not realize is how hard it was to bring the characters into the game.
For as Tekken Chief Producer Katsuhiro Harada noted, they had to start each one from the ground up:
“One of the things we faced with Geese, and this is kind of similar with Akuma, is that we didn’t receive any assets from SNK or Capcom,” Harada starts. “We created the character from scratch, so all the character modeling, the animations, everything we did on our own.”
Considering that both Akuma and Geese (and later Noctis) had moves that were already associated with them, this no doubt made it even harder. For now they’re not just trying to make a good fighter, but they’re trying to mimic their legendary moves. Even Harada noted that the process of bringing them into the game was much harder than they had noted. But, they are getting better at it, so, we could see another DLC character after Noctis in potentia.

I was actually excited enough to post a thought 😉 I do have 2 questions for you if it’s okay.
Could it be only me or do a few of the responses
appear as if they are written by brain dead people?
😛 And, if you are writing on other online social sites, I’d like to keep up with you.
