Kylo Ren “Alter Ego” Matt Is Now A Mod In Battlefront II
Star Wars Battlefront II has been drawing the ire of fans and critics pretty much since its launch. Much of it was due to design decisions by EA in order to “make players earn their rewards”. Which included a very brutal progression system, as well as the microtransaction system which made the game pay-to-play. So, needless to say, it takes some doing to make players smile while playing it. Well, someone clearly had that thought in mind because they made a mod that brings in a “side character” of the Star Wars universe to the forefront.
His name is Matt, and he’s a “radar technician” from Starkiller Base. Oh, and he’s also Kylo Ren in disguise. This mod is modeled after the now-classic Saturday Night Live skit that took place after The Force Awakens debuted in theaters. Where Adam Driver reprised his role as Kylo Ren, but did it in an episode of “Undercover Boss”. So, he became “Matt” to better see what was going on behind the scenes of the base.
The sketch was so well done, as well as downright funny, that fans instantly made Matt a “real” part of the Star Wars universe, including doing many cosplays, art pieces, and more of the character. So, getting him put into Star Wars Battlefront II just feels like a necessary step towards his full inclusion into the universe.
The mod can be gotten from Nexus Mods, and you can use the Matt character in Arcade Mode. Yes, you can’t use it everywhere, but isn’t the chance to just use him at all worth it?
Either way you look at it, this is just a fun mod that calls out a funny part of Star Wars, and if we got to have more mods like that? Maybe the game wouldn’t be as sad in regards to all that happened with it.
