Ni No Kuni 2 Gets Massive Gameplay Demo
Ni No Kuni was a fan-favorite RPG when it came out to the PS3 a while back, and since then, fans have been aching for a sequel. Sadly, the sequel has been delayed until March, but, that doesn’t mean we can’t learn more about the game in the meantime. In fact, Level 5 has released a massive demo video that shows off certain aspects of gameplay in Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom. Including having army battles in the overworld, and explore deep and dark dungeons in order to save someone.
The first part of the demo is focused on a chapter called “The Battle for the Heartlands.” Here, your main character, Evan, is trying to set up his own kingdom, and seemingly finds the perfect place to set it up. But, there are bandits in the area, and so you have to take them out before you can start setting them up. The battle takes place in real time, but will feature sky cam view of sorts mimicking RTS games, and you’ll have to use tactics and strategy to make it out alive with your army.
Then, as the second part of the demo plays on, you’ll get to see the dungeon crawling aspect of gameplay. Here, Tani, who is the daughter of the leader of the Sky Pirates within the game, has been kidnapped and locked away. Evan and Roland set out to save her. Here, the battles take more of a classic action game with the camera right behind the player and the control is much freer.
Throughout the 25-minute demo, you’ll hear fascinating insights from the Level-5 team about what you can expect from the game, as well as the important influences that helped make the game special. Ni No Kuni 2: The Revenant Kingdom is set to hit PS4 and PC on March 23rd.
