One of the things that make video game developers special is that they’re built to a certain size to do certain tasks. Indie game teams often start small so that they can get the game done. AAA developers though sometimes hire hundreds of people in order to make the game great and also to get it out as soon as possible. For new companies, we often expect them to make one game, then see where their path goes. This may not be happening though for Kojima Productions.
The developer, headed up by legendary writer and game designer Hideo Kojima, already has a game in the works by the name of Death Stranding. This very interesting title has been boggling people’s minds via its trailer since it first was shown off a while back. And the latest trailer via The Game Awards didn’t help the situation (in a good way). But it might surprise you to hear that Kojima himself has said he’s got something to reveal in the new year.

Given the context of the tweet, it makes it seem that Kojima Productions is already hard at work on another game. As to what, we honestly can’t even begin to speculate. The wording makes it seem like they’ll be working on an established IP, but it’s hard to say.
Either way though, it’s good to see that Kojima is enjoying the freedom of being his own boss. After what happened with Konami and Metal Gear Solid V, it brings us joy to see him doing well, and already making new visions about what’ll come from his company.
