The time has come for PUBG to finally make its way out of Early Access, with version 1.0 now being available on PC. Along with this release is the new desert map known as Miramar, which is now live on the servers as well as new weapons, vehicles and abilities such as vaulting and climbing that were introduced to the test servers not so long ago.
Going forward, PUBG Corp CEO CH Kim stated in a recent interview that this is only the beginning with the release of 1.0: “For us, the release of PUBG 1.0 is not the end to anything. It’s just one of the many milestones that we looked forward to accomplishing. We’ve seen a lot of Early Access games stay in Early Access for a very long amount of time. That’s why we made a promise early on that we would get out of Early Access and make our 1.0 release within this year.”
Looking at the game’s future, it seems that one of the primary focuses will be bringing further improvements on the game’s performance, and working on optimizations to bring even better quality.
Kim continued: “We are in the process of discussing with a lot of different production companies around the world to see [what] we could work together on, but we’ll be putting in the effort to figure out what different tools and functions we can add to make the process itself more attractive and enjoyable.”
