Blizzard has been listening closely to Overwatch fans after complaints regarding the look of Hanzo’s Winter Wonderland skin. The outrage has been based around the color of Hanzo’s skin, which seems to have altered with the introduction of the new seasonal limited time event, which also didn’t depict how it looked in the digital comic “Reflections” from last year.
Blizzard community manager Josh Engen responded: “The general consensus seems to be that you love the illustration that this skin is based off of, but aren’t super happy how it was translated to the game,” said Blizzard community manager Josh Engen in a forum post. “We actually agree with that sentiment, and our artists have already mocked up some changes they’d like to make to this skin in an upcoming patch.”
The prominent alteration surrounds Hanzo’s face, with Blizzard swapping out his grey beard for a classic black goatee, as well as shorter hair on the sides. The piercing on the bridge of his nose also seems to be smaller, too.
As for when this will be introduced, Blizzard continued: “We don’t have a solid ETA on when these changes will get patched in, but we know it won’t be until sometime in January. Whenever they are patched in, however, the changes will be retroactive—which means that anyone who unlocks Casual Hanzo during this year’s event will see the updates whenever they go live.”
