Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus brought forth a very twisted version of America, one where the Nazis were now in control, the KKK walked the streets with authority, and the American Dream was all but snuffed out. It was your job to try and bring the fight back to its people, and in the process, kill just about every Nazi you found. And you did! But that doesn’t mean the story is over. Far from it, the story is only just beginning in many ways.
For America is a big place, and though you were the main character who was trying to free his country, that doesn’t mean you’re the only one trying to do it. In the first of a three-pack of story DLC, Wolfenstein II: The Freedom Chronicles gives you a new character to be, and new challenges to fight, as well as a new setting for you to fight Nazis in.
In “The Adventures of Gunslinger Joe”, you’ll play as Joe Stallion, who was a professional football player before the Nazis took over. And now, he’s forced to play Soccer (which isn’t the worst thing here, but I digress). And now, Joe is going to take the fight to the Nazi sons-of-guns and try and take Chicago back from them as well. Much like the main game, you’ll have to earn your freedom by battling through wave after wave of Nazi soldiers, and it won’t be easy, as Wolfenstein II has been noted for its brutal difficulty.
But, if you make it through, you might just be happy at your accomplishment. Of course, this is only part I, parts II and III will be coming soon, and they’ll likely push your skills even more.
“The Adventures of Gunslinger Joe” via The Freedom Chronicles is available now via Steam.
