As Fortnite continues to expand and evolve, Epic Games has revealed that there will be a new 50 vs 50 “last team standing” mode. Announced during last night’s Game Awards, the new mode will unfortunately only be available for a limited period of time, and will finish on Sunday, December 17th.
There has yet to be an announcement as of yet whether it will be a feature that will be made permanent at some point, or if it will come back again at a later date sometime. Perhaps this is only a trial run, but what we do know is that there are further unique game modes in the works for Fortnite, so even if the 50 vs 50 mode doesn’t stick around, at least there is going to be some form of variety to go off of at some point down the line.
It has also been revealed by Epic Games that Fortnite has managed to reach 30 million players across all platforms, which includes PC, Mac, Xbox One and PS4. As for the concurrent count for players, this currently stands at around 1.3 million. So it is very clear that the free battle royale game is most certainly on the rise, the question is where does it go next? It could even expand into a Nintendo Switch version at some point, who knows?
Fortnite is now available on PC, Mac, Xbox One and PS4.
