As enjoyable as players are finding Destiny 2, there is a common theme emerging of fans complaining about the difficulties of communication. Even in the most simple of circumstances, such as connecting with fellow clanmates, has become a hassle for many.
This is something that may well be on the way to being fixed in the not too distant future, according to social designer M.E. Chung. The team want to make a number of improvements to the newly released sequel on how players can communicate better in the game whilst playing, and will be prioritizing clan chat going forward so that it is released as soon as possible. Tower and zone chats are also being looked into, though clan chat is most certainly at the front of the queue.
Chung revealed: “We can do a waaaaayyyyyy better job in the game to encourage players to communicate, like making more obvious public/team channels and a good time to enter (i.e., NOT when the player gains control when boots are on the ground), or letting players know about chat setting defaults up front when you start the game, or letting you know when someone is trying to whisper you, etc. These are the kinds of things we have on our backlogs, but again, everything is prioritized against all other asks.”
Destiny 2 is now available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
