Preseason is set to arrive in League of Legends in a few days time, in which players will get the chance to check out new runes, playstyles, and also level up to infinity. These features are set to arrive on November 8th, so check out what’s coming to LoL next week.
The Runes Reforged update presents a huge change to the game, and will pave the way for something even greater down the line. As far as runes are concerned, the development team stated: “We know there will still be a lot to accomplish, especially with all the extra feedback we’ll get once everyone is playing with the new Runes. Along with normal balance work, bug fixing, clarity improvements, and polish, we’ll have to pay close attention to see which champions are struggling in the initial release.”
Going forward, Riot plan to work hard on replacing and adding runes where needed for the new system. That won’t be all they are working on, as they intend to continue working on other features that didn’t get enough treatment prior to the preseason update. For example, an in-game spectator mode is under development for the end-of-game experience, as well as managing run pages to make them more streamlined with better filtering options.
This will be the biggest alteration to the LoL gameplay to date. There’s plenty of tweaking to do over the coming months, even past the features going live.
