Whilst trying to fix an issue with Destiny 2, Bungie has ultimately created another. The team rolled out a hotfix with the 1.0.6 patch, which would focus on the performance issues caused by a bug that saw clan rosters not displaying in-game.
The positive note is that the intended fix did solve the clan bug issue, as you can now see your clan mates listed in the relevant menu. Unfortunately, it has now created another issue in which players are experiencing short freezes, predominantly in public events that are well populated. This bug has arrived in the game after the previous patch, meaning that it is most likely the cause of it.
One comment from Reddit reads: “Ever since this hotfix, I’ve been getting very sudden freezes. Every sixty seconds or so, my screen will hang for what feels like maybe 1/10th of a second, just long enough to be noticeable. Before and after, it’s silky smooth 60fps. This wasn’t happening before today’s update.”
Bungie has since responded by stating that they are looking into the issue and will hopefully resolve it soon. This may mean that we will seem another hotfix rolling out, but at least the previous issues that the patch was initially intended for have been resolved.
