Today marks the release of Dimension of the Damned in RuneScape, bringing a brand-new competitive PvE experience. This new mode will only be available for 10 days, and will see player heading to an alternate undead dimension where they will be taking in the dead in swarms.
This parallel RuneScape universe sees zombies spawning all over in what will task players with searching for resources against the hordes, therefore having to get the highest score over a one-hour session. Multiple sessions can be attempted, though only the highest score will count towards the final showdown. This will take place on October 28th, the highest scoring 1,000 players will be competing in a 90-minute final, in which the King or Queen of the Damned will be crowned.
“We’ve played with the idea of survival modes in RuneScape in the past, most notably with our DarkScape experiment a couple of years ago, and they’ve proved popular. However, as a purely PvE survival game mode, Dimension of the Damned is quite unlike anything we’ve released before” Matt Casey stated, as the Senior Product Manager, RuneScape.
Whether you are a newcomer or veteran in RuneScape, this is something that will appeal to both sides as you create a new character and head into battle.
