KONAMI has announced that Arsenal FC has become an official partner with the company. Appearing as a licensed club in last year’s release of PES 2017, the Gunners have now been recreated in PES 2018 as part of this new partnership.
In order to implement them perfectly, KONAMI is using “cutting 3D scanning systems” according to a press release, in order to capture both the physical and facial data from the entire squad, all the while using Player and Team ID mechanics to bring a more realistic experience of how they run, pass and move in real life. This will also allow KONAMI to recreate the club’s Emirates Stadium, using a rendered model to be used in the game.
“Our working relationship with KONAMI to date has been extremely successful from a licensing perspective and we are delighted to extend this and welcome them as an official partner,” Vinai Venkatesham, Chief Commercial Officer at Arsenal said. “We look forward to getting started in the next phase of our relationship with KONAMI and creating some fun and exciting content that both Arsenal and wider football fans will enjoy.”
