Recently, we saw an overhaul of Overwatch hero Mercy which was met with criticism by players. This was because she was considered to be far too overpowered, particularly in comparison to the other healers in the game, and it now seems as if Blizzard have responded by testing out a nerf on her in the PTR.
In the public test realm, Mercy’s new ultimate Valkyrie will no longer reset or reduce the cooldown of her Resurrect ability. Previously, there was a 30-second cooldown once activating the former, with Valkyrie being reduced to 10 seconds whilst it was active. As a consequence, this meant that Mercy could use Resurrect several times in quick succession. This added on to her already boosted damage and mobility, making her just a bit too much of a force to be reckoned with.
Hopefully with these changes, it will bring her to be more balanced in comparison to the other support heroes, whilst still making Mercy fun to play as. She was always a popular hero down to her abilities, so this should bring her to be more on the level at least.
Meanwhile, the next seasonal event is scheduled to start next week, with the Overwatch Halloween Terror 2017 event kicking off on October 10th, running through until October 31st.
