When two worlds collide in video games, it tends to mean good things for players, as it opens up fun possibilities, gameplay mechanics and so on. Marvel Vs. Capcom, Hyrule Warriors, and more have done this, but you could argue that no game has more of a reason to merge than Accel World and Sword Art Online. Because these two were made by the same man, Reki Kawahara. The merging of the two created a game that launched on PS4 and PS Vita, but now, Accel World VS. Sword Art Online Deluxe Edition has come to PC via Steam.
What makes this particular crossover so special isn’t just that Kawahara was the lead on this project, but rather, that the two worlds themselves seamlessly mesh together because they both deal with virtual worlds. Thus opening up the grander possibilities while not delving into bad crossover habits.
In the game, Svart Alfheim and the Accelerated World have merged, and because of this, Yui has gone missing, now, the two groups of characters from both worlds have to team up to find her as well as find out who’s behind it all and stop the end of both their world. You can expect great RPG style gameplay, a diverse lineup from both games, anime style cutscenes, and much more.
What’s more, Accel World VS. Sword Art Online Deluxe Edition brings you the DLC, “Castaway From Another World”, which brings you three new characters to play with, a new “Infinite Dungeon” with plenty of challenges, more weapons, appearances from characters from both games, and even a new PVP quest.
So, if you haven’t gotten to play Accel World VS. Sword Art Online, you should get the Deluxe Edition, it has the full main game, the DLC, and it’s on your PC, it’s hard to beat that.
