Ubisoft Details South Park: The Fractured But Whole Early Gameplay

Ubisoft has revealed details on the highly anticipated (and heavily delayed) South Park: The Fractured But Whole, as players swap fantasy for superheroes in this follow up to The Stick of Truth.

The recent Ubiblog states that “everyone knows the best heroic journeys start from nothing, so South Park: The Fractured But Whole busts you back down to nobody status when Cartman abruptly changes the game from fantasy to superheroes.”

When you start out in the game, you’ll spend the majority of your time defining your character, as you reprise your role as the “New Kid.” This will offer fully customizable features, including the ability to choose your gender, after which you will choose from three classes: Blaster, Brutalist or Speedster.

As with The Stick of Truth, you will be able to poke around people’s homes, whilst taking selfies with fellow South Park residents to increase your Coonstagram influencer level. The combat this time round is in the fashion of a tactical RPG, where characters will move around a grid to line up attacks or retreat out of range of the enemy in a turn-based method dictated by each character’s stats. Each character will also have an ultimate, which can quash a number of enemies with a single blow, which can be used after building up a meter from landing successful hits or after being hit.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is set for release on October 17th on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
