PAX West is coming out with some exciting news for fans of the Borderlands franchise, as Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford teased the audience regarding Borderlands 3.
During the Inside Gearbox Software panel, Pitchford acknowledged that there were many fans of the series in attendance, and would be expecting to hear some news about it. He stated that around 300 people in Frisco, Texas, plus another 70 or so in Quebec City, Canada as well as a number of others from the outside are helping to make the game. He continued to tease that at least 90% of the studio are working on “the thing I think most of you guys want us to be working on.” However, he did state that since Gearbox is now a publisher, the saying goes that “A product does not exist until it’s announced.”
So obviously Pitchford can’t reveal anything more at this time, though it is something to hear that they are working on a new entry in the Borderlands series. When this third mainline addition will arrive is anyone’s guess, nor do we know what the game will actually be called, if it’s Borderlands 3 or something completely different.
Only time will tell, but hopefully this little tidbit of news will be enough for fans until we get something more concrete.
