Has Cloud9’s Dota 2 Team Disbanded?

A number of teams in the professional Dota 2 eSports gaming scene have been making changes to their roster, and it appears that Cloud9 may be one of said teams which are going through some pretty drastic alterations.

The official website no longer lists an active Dota 2 team, and in the “Teams” section, where the games in which they participate in are listed such as CS: GO, League of Legends, Overwatch as well as others, though now Dota 2 is no longer present.

It has been hard to tell whether this is legitimate or a mistake on the website, though there are some hints to suggest that they have disbanded. Back on August 12th, support player PieLieDie removed Cloud9 from his Twitter bio, which was followed up by core players FATA and EternaLEnVy unfollowing each other on the same social media platform.

There has yet to be an official announcement from Cloud9 as to whether they still have a Dota 2 team, though the evidence so far does point to something serious. We will hopefully hear some further clarification pretty soon, as it seems as though the eSports team has made the decision to leave the game behind and focus their attention elsewhere.
