Baldur’s Gate 3 has received pretty mixed reviews since its Early Access launch but the number of people playing is absolutely insane.
A lot of people found some issues with this game. The Steam user reviews seem to agree on one thing. This feels like a Divinity game with D&D rules, and not a Baldur’s Gate sequel. However, it’s an enjoyable RPG that is still in Early Access so there’s a lot of room for improvement. Even if it’s not what people expected it to be, a lot of RPG and D&D enthusiasts have bought and played the game. An insane number to be frank, as the all-time peak was 73,980 just a day ago according to SteamDB. An Early Access title with these sorts of numbers is crazy, especially considering that the Early Access price tag is that of a triple-A game.
The Early Access launch was so crazy that it managed to break Steam. Not many games have the luxury of having bragging rights for an achievement such as that. But, the fact remains that this Early Access wasn’t as impressive as many expected it to be. Still this is Larian Studios we’re talking about. I’m sure the final product is going to be an excellent RPG.
