After 14 years of passionate and hard work, Black Mesa is leaving Early Access behind and launching on March 5th.
Black Mesa has been in development for 14 years now. Quite a long time, but it’s a small passionate team that had a vision and they saw it through. Yes, Black Mesa is finally leaving Early Access and we will have the 1.0 version live on March 5. The reimagining of this cult-classic received an excellent response from the players. The newest part, the Xen levels, is the latest piece of content that was introduced in Early Access. Now the game received that, some tweaks to the map, and AI improvements. We’re in front of the release of one of the greatest remainings of this century. But even the developers are aware that this won’t be a perfect game. The owner of Crowbar Collective said:
This is not to downplay, or make excuses, but as the person who drafts most of these media posts, I think it is important to break away from the marketing and the “hype”. Before Astroneer launched, they made a blog post about managing expectations for their game, and it really resonated with me, and inspired me to someday write a post like this one. We are super excited to have Black Mesa be “complete”, but acknowledge it is not perfect and won’t ever be perfect.
They will work on Black Mesa even after it exits its Early Access phase. No game is free of bugs and glitches, but it’s good to know that the devs are ready to fix any issue that might hinder our enjoyment. You can read all about the 1.0 patch in their last developer preview.
Black Mesa is available on HRK Game right now for a great price!
