Studio Wildcard has announced that ARK: Survival Evolved will have rentable servers in the game, which are available now on PlayStation 4, and will be coming to Xbox One in September.
These rentable servers will allow players to host their own private worlds for themselves and up to 100 players. Here, surivivors will be able to set their own parameters and custom rules, exclusive to their own server. These will be available at a “low monthly cost” according to the press release, and are being offered by server provider company Nitrado, who will be accompanied by more outlets for servers in the future. Costs will be going directly to the hosts, and not to Studio Wildcard themselves, in an attempt to bring the largest group of players to the game as possible.
“Cross ARK” will be a particular highlight of this method, which will let players connect to multiple private servers, creating a mass cluster to jump between other’s servers and worlds. Settings will be able to be altered to the player’s desire, via a web portal to cater for all your survival needs.
ARK: Survival Evolved is set to release on August 29th, 2017 on digital platforms on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
