One Rainbow Six Siege made a lot of money by selling cheats to players, and it seems Ubisoft is taking legal action.
Competitive titles like Rainbow Six Siege are all about skill. Talking with your team, coming up with plans, outmaneuvering the enemy, and achieving victory. Cheats kind of mess up everything. They give advantages to players that aren’t available to others. Then the match quickly loses all of its charms when one dude can simply see through walls. That’s not fair, and in a shooter like this, not playing fair is frowned upon. You can then understand why Ubisoft is suing MizuSoft, the minor that creates cheats for Rainbow Six Siege and sells them. The owner of the site that was used to sell the hacks, J.V.L., is also getting sued, Polygon reports.
Apparently, the services provided by MizuSoft are quite popular with the Rainbow Six Siege community. Even though the prices for these cheats were insanely high ($13 per day, $33 per week, or $77 per month), the software was downloaded and used a lot. By a lot, I mean thousands of times, which is ridiculous when you think about it. Then again, take into consideration the insanely competitive nature of this game. That alone could push some players to use cheats if their natural skills were lacking.
As expected, Ubisoft is not playing around. They want $25,000 per violation. Of course, they also need the entire operation and the site to be taken down. 10 other people are getting sued as well, but only their Discord names are known at the moment.
